| Dutch? That's an easy one for God! |
There are people who would like for us to seal our borders and live just to ourselves,
no doubt because of the illegals entering the country now. But this nation is made up of people from countries all over
the world. My take is to let them keep coming, but simply to enter the way this nation became so great...by studying
our ways and our government, and passing the required tests to become citizens. How simple is that!
But I don't want to get political here...my point is that in ordering some computer/printer ink, instructions came
with it, in ten different languages which I couldn't even identify, since I don't know those languages. Oh yes..."English"
was one of them. And I've read that our English language is the most difficult to completely learn.
And I must admit, I haven't mastered it. For example, I got to looking for the rule on when to end a word like "example"
with "el," or "le." When I couldn't find it, I called the school and asked the English teacher
about it, and got people there to looking. And they finally had to tell me that there are some words that you just have
to memorize...that there is no rule for them. And years ago, I made a page of instructions on grammar
for my announcers at our my radio stations, in which I condensed a college course I had, to two pages of helpful hints.
Like using "that" or "which" when talking about things, but using "who" or "whom"
when talking about people. And that there's no such word as "ex-cape." The word is "es-cape."
And you can not write this sentence correctly: "There are three two's in the English language." And with all those rules for every country, isn't it great that God knows all of them, and doesn't
give a hoot about your grammar and spelling and all that. He just wants your heart. And talk about rewards!
Living for Him during this brief time we have on earth, will guarantee us an eternity with Him, where there's no problems
and no goodbyes. Remember that Conquest article I wrote for you about the movie "Miracle on 34th Street,"
where the man had to prove that he was the REAL Santa? The little girl wanted to sit on Santa's lap, but she was
an immigrant from the Netherlands. And Santa began talking to her in her OWN language! The thought still brings
tears to my eyes, because Christ is the REAL Christ, and he knows every language and has named every star in the heavens.
(Psalm 147:4). Accept His gift and live for Him. It's the Only Way.
