Had you noticed...it usually takes a need, and sometimes a tragedy, to bring the good changes we enjoy.

For example, do you remember the rash of deaths of children in old ice boxes after World War Two? Children would get in a game of hide-and-seek, and would hide in a discarded icebox out back, then would find that they couldn't open the door to get out. Consequently, they would smother, and be found dead after much searching.

The reason was that during the war, all plants built things necessary for winning the war, so new home items and even cars were not available. With the end of the war, factories were allowed to again build appliances to replace worn out articles, and the old ice box was innocently put out back, where it became a death trap. This led to factories building electric refrigerators with doors that closed on a magnet, which could be pushed open from the inside.

And do you remember the many deaths of children as they got off school busses? It followed the time when schools began to consolidate, bringing more and more children from points up and down the highways, and children would hop off the bus and run across the road toward home, only to be hit by passing cars. That led to the law for vehicles to stop anytime a school bus stops.

One more: In the 40's, a fire in the famous Cocoanut Grove Nightclub in Boston, killed hundreds because the doors opened to the inside, so as people piled up against them, trying to get out, it was impossible to open them. Hence the law that business doors should open outward. Some still aren't that way, but it's the law.

Why wait until tragedy happens? Human nature doesn't change. Put it off til there's no choice. And that's the reason too many people put off giving their lives to Christ. Because they expect "tomorrow" to happen. And for too many, it doesn't come, and they die in their sins. The tragedy, too late to be averted, and for them, Heaven doesn't happen. I would advise you that of all things you should not put off til tomorrow, it would be to tell the Lord that you're ready to do things HIS way...incidentally, the title of one of my song compositions. Think about it.
