We know that all who do not accept Jesus as the Christ will face torment and miss Heaven...does it ever seem
unfair to you that the little old lady who refuses Christ will go to the same hell where murderers will be?
I've wondered about that. and I wouldn't want to wrongly influence you to mis-interpret the Bible, but I explore
every avenue of thought in my Conquest articles. In Matthew 23:14, Christ says some will receive the greater damnation.
And in Matthew 11:22-24, He says it will be more tolerable for the evils of Tyre and Sidon at the judgment,
than for some others. In Luke 12:48, Jesus says he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten
with few stripes, indicating that a savage in Outback Australia who never hears about Christ will not be as tortured in hell.
And in Luke 20:47, it says much given, much required,...to whom much is given, more is asked.
No matter what degree of torture is suffered in hell for eternity, the very least amount is horrible to think
about, so of all things to shun, hell and its fire and brimstone is the epitome of pain, but there will be going to be mental
anguish, too.
Remember the story of the rich man and Lazarus...the rich man remembered being back on earth, and didn't want
his brothers to suffer this same fate. And his memory of how he had disregarded Lazarus, and his other sins, were on his mind.
Jesus said in Matthew 18:8, “Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee; it
is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting
fire.”
It may be that Hitler and his gang will be in much more grief and distress than another who is in torment,
but who at least doesn't have mistreatment of others in his or her past life to deal with. If knowing that you were nice enough
not to lead others into hell is any consolation, it still will be agonizing.
Don't go there. Make your peace with Christ right now.
