The question arises now and then, whether we might get bored in Heaven. I've read that there are more suicides
in areas where the seasons don't change and there's only warm, beautiful weather to enjoy, so I suppose it's only natural
for one to wonder "what will I do for eternity."
Well, to begin with, the Apostle John was given the opportunity to see Heaven in a vision, and he said it
was so wonderful that there were no words to describe it. And he said that some was so marvelous that he was told not to tell
it.
Think back...to a day you remember, that was so good that you'll never forget it. Or maybe you can remember
a whole week that stands out. Any chance that you had a special year? Let's just stick with that one special day, and add
another, and another, and another time that was unspeakably good in your life.
That's the way Heaven is going to be, except you won't have to say, "Oh...I wish that would never end." Because
in Heaven, it WON'T end. You won't worry about being careful so you won't get sick before some wonderful plan unfolds. No
worry about death taking the joy out of life.
And I have a feeling that the things you enjoyed here will only be multiplied and extended for as long as
you wish, and until you decide to do something else you enjoy. I even think that my family will be able to go camping, if
we wish, and the brook we waded on the way from our tent, up to the place where we got ice cream. Back when I would take my
family, we even loved it when a shower would hide the sun. And I took them on vacations to almost all of the states, and there
are still hundreds of places I want to see. I rest assured that there will be scenic sights in Heaven that will beat the best
we can see in this world. And we won't have to be back in two weeks. Or two years. Or give or take a century.
Who knows...maybe God will have all the sights in this world, all rolled out for us to see at our leisure.
And for transportation, it may be that we will only have to think where we want to go, and we'll be there. Like the magic
carpet I used to ride as I listened to "Let's Pretend" on the radio. And no one will be too old, and...well, all will be...heavenly.
We won't get bored. There'll be no time for that. Be there!
