If Heaven is going to be so wonderful, what can we make of the words that “God shall wipe away all tears?” It’s in Revelation 7:17 and 21:4. Should we second-guess the writer?

Here’s my thinking. Haven’t you ever heard about tears of joy? Have you seen a mother, welcoming her son back from the war, safe and sound? The mother of a lost child, after finding that it simply fell asleep behind the couch while playing with a new kitten.

And from what the Apostle John says about Heaven itself, there may be tears of joy when we find that he was truthful when he said that there are no words to describe the beauty of it.

And I’ve seen persons who received salvation at an altar, and came up with tears that turned from sorrow and regret, to tears of relief and newness of life.

I’ve told you at another time, about persons I know personally, who had gone down to the gutter of life, then accepted God’s forgiveness and came up with those tears of joy. And I have no doubt that when those persons find themselves in Heaven, that there will be more of those tears, but they’ll be wiped away as they settle into eternal pleasure that won’t fade. There won’t be any boredom…for example, my Dad loved music but couldn’t carry a tune. He lived through a talent God passed on to me. But I’m sure he’s now singing in a voice that Bing would envy.

And may I say it…again, this is my personal thinking; it’s not given to us in the Bible…but for those dear ladies who for some reason weren’t able to have children in this life…will be in a glory as they live and love with children who left this life in untimely ways, but are happy in their new home.

And the parents who gave up those little ones who went there before them…can we understand tears of the joy of reunion? I think so.

If there are tears in Heaven, there’ll be no sadness with them. Count on it.
