Check this out: A person prays, saying he’s the only one left, and they’re trying to kill
him, too.” Another wonders if you can find at least five honest persons…another says officials and judges
are demanding bribes and that they scheme to twist justice. And he warns us not to trust anyone, even a wife. And another
carries around a lantern, looking for an honest man.
That last one may have given you a clue…those writers were writing back in Biblical days of the Old
Testament, with Diogenese, who went around with the lantern, was the latest, and he lived 400 years before Christ came to
earth. And so you see…not much has changed in human nature from then until now. Even children learn quickly to blame
someone else. The quotes I gave were from Ezekial, Elijah, Jeremiah, and Micah, all from the Bible, with the Greek, Diogenese,
of the same opinion.
But folks, there is hope. Micah, in his book in the Bible, followed his comment with “Therefore I will
look unto the Lord,” (Micah 7:7), and the others were of the same mind. No matter how badly things get, we have the
Big Three…God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost, who will put all these sinful people and their sinful
ideas out of existence, and we’ll finally have the place called Heaven, where time and troubles are no more.
No matter how it seems, there are even some honest persons in our nation’s Congress. It’s just
that they’re in the minority when it comes to honest dealings, and even they have to do horse-trading to get the few
good laws they come up with.
So cheer up, Christians. You are NOT ALONE.
