You’ve probably heard this story…it’s old…but I’ll repeat it so I can make my
point.
C. B. DeMille was making one of his gigantic movies, and since hundreds were in this particular scene, he
wanted to make sure that just one take would get it. And so he had three cameras ready to film it from various sites. He gave
the “lights…camera…action” and the horde did its thing. Then he asked for reports from the three camera
crews.
The first said, “I’m so sorry, C. B., but I hope you won’t fire us…we didn’t
have film in our camera!” The second said, “We had a malfunction in our camera and didn’t get the scene,
C. B.” And the third report came in…”Ready when you are, C. B.”
That joke became a by-word among lots of folks and got lots of laughs.
But a time is coming for each of us, or ALL of us, depending upon whether your death or the Rapture comes
first. (“Rapture” is the word Christians use to describe the time when Jesus will come back for his people…the
“Second Coming” we wait for).
And when that time comes, there’ll be no second chance. Like
C. B. DeMille, sinners who didn’t make ready will be “fired,” and we use that literally
for the burning hell where angels (not Jesus) will put them (Matthew 13:41-50), and those who have given their hearts to Christ
will be taken up to Heaven.
Nuf said? There’s no time like this moment to make things right with God, by accepting His Son, Jesus
Christ.
Have I told you lately that God loves you? Think about it.
