At this writing, I’ve read that Tiger Woods, the golfer, is worth about a billion dollars. That’s
a thousand million. I also understand that he’s uhappy…sorry for the way he’s acted while amassing all that
money.
You say you’d like to have some of that. You would do things different. You could handle it.
Well, think about this…I’m sure that Tiger would not miss it, if he could give a million of that
money for peace of mind…to be able to do this part of his life over. Yes, I’m sure he would give you a million
of that, if he could have the peace that most of you have…that satisfaction that most of you have, in living for the
Lord.
Or think about this…there are rich men whose health would allow them to enjoy sitting down to a full
meal of anything they wanted, without it tearing them up inside. They worked all their lives to earn enough money that they
don’t have to look at the prices when they’re ordering at a restaurant, or at the meat counter at the grocery.
But now their mistreatment
of their bodies with alcohol and other things bad for their bodies, that now their money won’t buy the
good foods they would like to enjoy. You think they’d give one of their millions to have good health again?
How about the champion auto racer who skidded on a turn, and lost a leg in the accident. Would he exchange
the thrill of speed, to get his leg back?
How about the three mountain climbers who wouldn’t let winter and stormy weather on the mountain keep
them from heading up. At this writing, one had been found frozen to death and the weather was so bad on the mountain that
the search for the other two was postponed. Would they trade whatever thrill is in climbing, to have their lives back.
Folks, believe that saying, “Grow where you’re planted,” and thank God for what you have…not
what others have. If you’re a Christian, you have more waiting for you than those others can imagine, and if you’re
NOT a Christian, now’s the time to get it right. Because for you, it’s not too late.
