You who are familiar with the Bible know that God plays no favorites. My thinking is that He will play no
favorites in Heaven, either. Oh, there’ll be recognition of the Twelve Apostles and those martyrs who gave their lives
for Christ’s sake, but God will love us all the same.
And let me give you my thoughts on other areas (note that this is not spelled out as such in the Bible) You
may remember that Jesus said there won’t be marriages in Heaven, and I’ve talked with you about that…we’ll
know each other, but there will be no thoughts of a “first or second wife” by those who re-marry after a spouse
has died…neither will there be a variety of skin colors…it just won’t be an issue. Age won’t be noticed,
Christian giants won’t tower over ruddy David.
And I believe there must be a common language…no confusion as to the Frenchman or German or American…it
may even be that we’ll speak in a new tongue that all will understand. Surely it will be something of that nature, because
no one will go around hunting a nationality he can recognize.
There won’t be any notice of what we’re wearing…no acts of dressing up nicer than that lady
down the street. And clothing won’t necessarily be robes; Jesus doesn’t take time to talk about these less important
things, nor should we worry about them here on earth. And even though we hear it preached, that Christ looks on the heart,
not on outward appearance, I fear we don’t follow those words found in First Peter, 3:3. I have to admit that I always
try to dress as though I’ll run into an old girl friend from high school days! But in the same breath, I remind that
we can be neat and clean, whether in a suit or overalls. You’d do as much for the Queen, so why not for the Lord.
We’ll all be on one level in Heaven, so if you’re power or money-hungry, or a clothes-horse, or
car-crazy, get over it. Talk to the Lord now, while you’re thinking on it
