Have you ever wondered why you seem to get a different slant on a scripture or Bible chapter, each time you
read it. Oh…excuse me…the clothes washer just went off and I need to move the clothes to the dryer…
Oh, let it wait. As I was saying, you can get a different thought from a verse or chapter, according to the
mood you’re in, or…just a minute…did I write down that appointment…was it two or three tomorrow afternoon.
Okey…yes, for example, if you do your daily bible reading right after you get up…while you have
a doughnut and milk, like I do, your mind may be on what’s coming up today, or…oh that PHONE…let it ring,
the ID will let me call them back…wait, that’s Richard, and I need to tell him that the committee will meet at
six, not seven…arghhh…too late, I’ll call him back as soon as I get through here…
Well, yes, you can get up in a bad mood if you didn’t sleep well, or a good mood, if all has gone well.
Now here’s a good thought in verse eight; I need to make a note of that for…just a minute, I have to get a pencil…
But folks, you really CAN get a different thought, or a blessing, or not, from your bible reading, according
to how things go while you’re doing your daily (or whenever) quiet time. Take this chapter I’m reading today,
First Corinthians, where it talks about the gifts; wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits,
tongues, interpretations…Peter…or rather, Paul’s point is that…
OH! I must remember the porch light is out, I’ve gotta change that as soon as I get through here. Folks,
I’ll finish this thought for you next time, maybe.
