I suppose this comment is to you “macho” guys, who might find it difficult to say you “love” Christ. You might prefer to say you “admire” Him, or you’re “in awe” of Him. But a guy loving a guy…that’s not your style.

I may as well admit it…I have the same trouble, and It’s bothered me, because we’re told in the bible to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30). And the word “love” is a signature of the bible; in fact, “God is love.” (I John 4:8). Without love, we can’t be a part of Christ.

So here’s a thought for us: This love the bible speaks of is not a

man-man love; it’s a man-God love. Christ took a body like ours when He came to earth as a babe in a manger, and grew to be 33 years of age before accepting death on a cross as a living sacrifice for our sins, so we wouldn’t have to offer up innumeral animals regularly and even daily. And even while He had that human body, He was a part of the God Head…God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. And it’s this Holy One that we’re to love. It’s not a “gay” thing; time after time, the bible notes that that lifestyle is an abomination to Him, and must be discontinued to live for Him. And with His help, this sin can be overcome.

But don’t be afraid to love Christ for what He is; our God, to be worshipped for what He is; our Savior and Lord. And if you haven’t accepted Him yet, don’t wait any longer. His love is why you’ve been spared this long.
