Satan and his angels must have had a real party after seeing Christ die on the cross.
Can you imagine that gleeful crowd as they celebrated, beginning about sundown that Friday. They had reached the summit...their
whole reason for being...to destroy Jesus Christ. And now they had done it!
Satan must have prepared himself a throne for just
this moment, and now sat there smiling as he watched his demons dance. It was the victory celebration to end all, and
they intended to revel until Sunday morning, when they would sleep in.
But what a rude awakening on that Sabbath! A messenger comes with
startling news...that Jesus is no longer in his tomb, and although people are saying the whole thing was a trick, Satan knows
it is not. And he knows that Jesus indeed has risen, as He had promised.
Satan's battle is not over...he won't be able to
rest on his laurels after all. In fact, his work is just beginning, because he now must try to convince the world that
they can lay this miracle aside for awhile...at least until later in life.
And satan is still working on this very project. It's
alright with him for the world to say, "Yes, I believe in God, and I intend to live better one of these days. But right
now, it's party time." Satan knows that the longer you put it off, the better chance he has of keeping you. Statistics
prove it.
If you're thinking of following Christ "one of these days,"
I suggest that today is the day.
