I have a cartoon on our refrigerator that I cut out of the comics and saved. The husband is patting his wife’s
hand as she lays on the couch, and he’s saying, “Honey! Honey! Honey! You must have passed out!” And she
says, “Huh?”
Then the husband says, “What’s the last thing you remember?” And her answer is, “You,
saying you’d done the laundry.”
Well, that would make some wives faint, alright. People my age came up on the idea of the wife takes care
of the home, and the husband takes care of the job. But due to my wife’s health and my semi-retirement, I find it’s
really no trouble to do a lot of things around the house that I didn’t give a thought to in years past. And so from
time to time, I’ll use some spot-remover, etc., to take up a stain on a carpet, and I’ve tried several methods.
Then a few days ago, I had a brainstorm…to spray the spot-remover stuff on the carpet, then do the scrubbing with the
sponge mop we use to clean the tile floor in the kitchen. Yes…the same mop, but of course I ran hot water over it three
or four times to squeeze out any dirt it had on it from cleaning the kitchen floor.
Ladies, it worked wonders! I couldn’t believe it. A spot we haven’t been able to get out, disappeared.
I even scrubbed over a larger area where we walk and it still did a good job. So take a tip. It belongs in what’s-her-name…Hints
from Heloise…or whatever her name was.
So what’s that got to do with this article I’m writing? Well, I try for it to be an inspirational
piece, and my discovery inspired me. But there’s always a spiritual side to such things…and when you’ve
tried everything else, try God. And when we say “God,” we really think of the Trinity…God, and his Son,
Jesus Christ, and the Comforter Jesus gave us when He finished his human walk on earth, sending The Holy Spirit to be with
us. Believe me, those three are a majority, to help you through this life’s troubles and trials. Not to erase them,
but to help you through them.
Remember, the Promise we’re living for through our belief and trust in Jesus Christ…that Promise
is our Future, after this breath of air we call this life, is over.
Our payoff is in Heaven…a place so good even John, who saw it in a vision, didn’t have adequate
words to describe to us what he had seen.
Keep the Faith!
