If Jesus were here in person today, as He was in Galilee two thousand years ago, he'd no doubt have a parable
about computers. Because they're here to stay, and most people at least know about them and what they do.
So He might say, "Salvation is like a computer. You can decide that you're going to get into the computer
game, and you go out and buy all kinds of software...games for the family's entertainment...that "Money" thing for keeping
your budget in order...some tax software for filing your income tax.
You'll probably get "Windows" that helps you organize and get into your programs easily. No telling what all
you'll get, because there are now stores that handle only software, and you can buy thousands of dollars worth, for everything
you can imagine.
But none of it is any good without the COMPUTER, Jesus would say in His parable. It's like a political party
with no candidate, or a car with no engine. All the trappings are no good unless you have the main part...a heart you've given
to Christ. That's why a "religion" within itself is no good...there must be Salvation...the heartfelt change...for Jesus to
put your computer on line.
Unless you've really given yourself to Him, all your good works are just fancy trappings. You must do them
for HIM, for them to count toward your heavenly home.
